I'm so excited 'cos my first Valentine's Day is coming up and the SPCA has got a special event planned!
It's the Second Chance SPCA Adopt-a-thon on all next weekend - February 13 and 14 - when our centre will be open from 9am till midnight Saturday and 9am till 10pm Sunday.
I have all my paws crossed that someone will come and fall in love with me then – if not sooner! My name is Lexi and I am a five month old staffi x lab female. I am busy, enthusiastic and (like most labs) food orientated. I love, love, love people but need firm guidelines and training to help me grow into a Good Dog.
Come to the SPCA and fall in love with me or one of the many other lovely pets available for adoption.

The Whangarei SPCA at a glance
We are open 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 7pm Thursdays, Saturday 9am to 12.30pm and Sunday 9am to 12.30pm. Our centre is located on Kioreroa Road, next to the Re:Sort centre and Cowleys
The area we cover (our inspectorate) stretches all the way north to Towai, south to Te Hana, and west to Tangiteroria
Around 3000 animals are brought to our centre each year and each year we investigate around – 500-600 animal abuse complaints
We receive a small amount of funding from the Government towards welfare investigations, but no financial help from Whangarei District Council, the Northland Regional Council and are not eligible for Lotteries Grants
We could not exist without volunteers and donations from the public!
