Over 40 physical
We all know that it is generally accepted that one year of your pet’s life is the same as seven or eight years of our life, so by 7 years of age, your pet is ready for an ‘over 40 physical’.
The over 40 physical is part of out senior healthcare program, it is a comprehensive examination of all body systems carried out at least annually to evaluate their health and function.
It includes:
• History and physical exam
• Routine blood profiles (biochemistry and haematology)
• Urine analysis
• Cardiopulmonary evaluation
• Dental hygiene evaluation
• Updating vaccine protection
• Parasite prevention (internal and external)
• Behaviour evaluation
• Exercise evaluation
• Recommendations about balanced and complete nutrition suitable for the older animal
Depending on our findings we will recommend appropriate therapy and management for your pet.
Our aim is to:
• Prolong youth and wellness.
• Prevent disease through early detection of changes to your pet’s health.
• To identify age related deterioration and slow down its progression and impact on your pets quality of life.
