If ignorance is bliss then my old owners must be ecstatic ‘cos they were pretty thick when it came to knowing what a dog needs, even basic things like to be fed everyday and a section where I couldn’t run away. How crazy is that! Luckily Whangarei SPCA are smart ‘cos they saved my life.
My name is Josie and I’m an awesome one year old female lab cross dog who deserves a home with smart owners with good doggie sense. I have a big smile, sweet nature and a keen need to please. So come on and meet me, I would be very pleased to shake paws and perhaps please you by being your buddy for life.

The Whangarei SPCA at a glance
We are open 9am to 4pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 7pm Thursdays, Saturday 9am to 12.30pm and Sunday 9am to 12.30pm. Our centre is located on Kioreroa Road, next to the Re:Sort centre and Cowleys
The area we cover (our inspectorate) stretches all the way north to Towai, south to Te Hana, and west to Tangiteroria
Around 3000 animals are brought to our centre each year and each year we investigate around – 500-600 animal abuse complaints
We receive a small amount of funding from the Government towards welfare investigations, but no financial help from Whangarei District Council, the Northland Regional Council and are not eligible for Lotteries Grants
We could not exist without volunteers and donations from the public!
